We are still in Albuquerque until the 28th of October. It has been fun meeting with former High School Friends. First we had dinner with Daina, Ray and Allison Roberts. It was fun seeing them again – it has been years since we saw them. We later went to their beautiful house and had dinner again.
Then we were abel to meet up with Susie (Maxwell) and Jaime Moya. What a great reunion – we hadn’t seen them since High School Graduation (and no, Lorraine won’t tell you how many years that was – but we knew. haha). It was a blast. Lorraine and Susie played on the Varsity Tennis team so it was like seeing old friends again.
Then Lorraine had a Groupon for a Facial so she and Susie went. This it the picture afterwards – us doing the Alicia Keys with no makeup because we just came from the facial. Great lunch!
Then we able to attend the first annual New Mexico Chinese Festival. “The New Mexico Chinese Lantern Festival features 30+ larger-than-life illuminated displays crafted by Chinese artisans. Their team of artisans hail from Zigong, Sichuan, China’s cultural capital for the ancient art of lantern-making.” Lorraine found another Groupon that give us the VIP package. This package included a key chain and front row seating for the performance.
“Our Chinese performers have decades of experience and offer a glimpse of Chinese stage culture. Some traditional Chinese acts featured include: Contortion, face changing, plate spinning, Uygur dance, Mongolian dance, and Tibetan dance.”
The displays were so beautiful. Enjoy. (please excuse if some of them are blurry – it not your eyesight.)
