St. Louis, MO (July 30-31, 2016)
We stopped in St Louis for two days a mid point on our way to Gunnison, CO. We dry camped in the parking lot of Casino Queen Casino/Hotel. http://www.casinoqueen.com/
We found this free campsite online with Free Campsites app. It is the perfect spot because we can see the St Louis Arch from here and you feel like you can reach out and touch it. This is our view from our coach.
The above is our view as we left St. Louis.
We took a 2 mile walk in the morning to Malcolm W. Martin Memorial Park in East St. Louis, Illinois, directly across from the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. This park has a geyser that runs at 12noon, 6pm and 9pm. We could see the geyser from hotel but here is a stock photo of it.
You walk to the Mississippi River Overlook which is a 3 story high walkway which you can see to the left of this picture. Very easy walk -all ramps.
This is the entrance sign along with pictures from the top. The statute of Malcolm Martin sits at the top facing the Arch.
Very nice quick visit and great walk in the morning. On our way to Kansas City, MO for 2 days.
