Colorado – Gunnison (Aug 2-5, 2016)

Gunnison, CO (August 2-5, 2016)

We originally went to Gunnison, CO thinking we would be able to make quick trips to Moab, UT to see some beautiful parks but we realized it would 4 hours one way. So we had to modify our plans and make the trip shorter due issues with the WiFi. We stayed at the Blue Mesa RV Camping site. (http://www.bluemesarvcamping.com/) This is a nice site but the lots are not level. When we leveled our coach, one wheel was at least 6″ off the ground – good thing for our levels. Anyhow, the site was also 20 minutes outside of town and had very poor WiFi which you needed to buy for each device. The WiFi not only dropped several times but  also was throttled during the use so your work was hampered. We will not stay at this site again.

The surroundings were very nice however. Surrounded with beautiful natural reservoirs but no one was in the water and the only boats were fishing boats.

First our trip to the site caused us to drive up the mountain and got to 11,312 altitude. Then we drove through  the mountains. It was a beautiful drive.

First this as after we climb the mountain and got to 11, 312 elevation which is almost twice as high as Denver – the mile high city. So we surpassed that marker.

Could provide lots of mountain pictures but just decided to show us one of the mountains with Cocoa who is adapting well to the coach and the travels.
