Page Lake, AZ and other areas (Jul 5 – Jul 18, 2021

Well even in the best of times, we try to follow a schedule, As you can see from our map below, we changed plans. The red areas mean we didn’t stop there. So here is what has happened.

We left the ACT Campground on our way to Page Lake, AZ. As we were travelling, on the side of the road was the Black Mesa Shopping Center that had some murals. So we pulled over.

Great mural by Navajo Mural Artist Daniel Josley, Owner at Persistence in arts and Caleb J.
This mural is done by Italian Street Artist Gola Hundun. The piece represents Navajo Mountain that is in the background,” he says, and the spiritual searcher finds a kinship with traditional Navajo stories about the foundational relevance of the land mass. Take a look at his biography where he has painted in Italy, Russia, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany and then in Arizona! We have found a mural by an international muralist.

The community took pictures and exposed them on the side of several buildings showing the masks that were being used because of COVID.

Then we headed to Page, AZ. Unfortunately, nothing was open since it was Navajo country and they didn’t open because of COVID. We did a quick tour of the city – which was very small.

This Arches mural has no artist name we could find. We also could not find it in our search on the web.

We did have to make some changes when we got to Santa Fe, NM. We went to check in but there were no bars on the cell phone and they told us that you can’t get cell coverage there. So we didn’t stay and drove right down to Albuquerque and stayed in the Isleta Casino RV Park for a week. During this week, we decided not to go to Las Vegas but instead head to Phoenix. So we stayed for two weeks in the Monte Vista RV Park (free thanks to Encore).

As of August 1, 2021, we will be staying at the Valle De Ora RV Park. We found they had a fall special from September 1-Jan 1 for only $1495. If we stayed at the ViewPoint Golf and RV Park, it would of cost us over $4000 for the same timeframe.

So we are in Mesa/Phoenix until Jan 1, 2021. We will send pictures or updates throughout our stay.

In the meantime, stay healthy and get vaccinated.
