We left Branson on June 11 and travelled to St. Louis, MO.
Of course, “St. Louis is a major city in Missouri along the Mississippi River. Its iconic, 630-ft. Gateway Arch, built in the 1960s, honors the early 19th-century explorations of Lewis and Clark and America’s westward expansion in general. Replica paddle-wheelers ply the river, offering views of the arch.”
Many actually go up in the arch with a tram ride to the top. We didn’t do that but found this interesting: “To reach the top and return, you must be able to manage at least 96 steps, divided into six flights, and you may need to stand for 30–60 minutes. No seating or restrooms are located at the top of the Arch.” It would of been a good workout but we passed.
We stayed in the River City Casino in St James. As you know, staying in the parking lots of Casinos are free. This lot was very busy with truckers and some RVs but still had great parking. The one issue was had was that we had one of our tires decided it needed more space in it and a bubble appeared in the morning. Searching for a replacement RV tire is not like you can go down to Discount Tire and get one so Mike spent a lot of time trying to track down a replacement which he finally found a place that could replace it for us. The good news was they came to us to replace it and we didn’t need a tow.
So besides that little episode, we were able to actually see St. Louis. The last time we were here in 2016 we did not get to really explore as we still new with the RV travelling. Anyhow. here some great murals and sights.
