Lake Texamo, Gordonville, Texas (May 25-Jun 15, 2017)
After working 4 weeks on site, Lorraine had to recover. She had not worked inside of an office for four years. So going to Lake Texamo was a very relaxing place. We stayed at the Lake Texamo Thousand Trails site. https://www.thousandtrails.com/texas/lake-texoma-rv-campground/ This RV Park was very nice and very large. One of the first things was access to the Lake. The lake was not a crystal blue fresh water lake however and looked more for boating/kayaking then just to swim in. There were not really “beaches” on the outskirts of the lake either. Cocoa was able to take a swim in it and it was fun watching her run in the surf back and forth. Here is a nice view of the lake.
The other thing about this park was the use of tree stumps. They were carved into many different things.
Outside of the park was a nice herd of Longhorns.
In addition we went to the Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. “Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge offers a variety of opportunities to explore and enjoy the great outdoors from sunrise to sunset every day. Hike, fish, observe and photograph wildlife, or hunt during one of the seasons for small game or deer.” https://www.fws.gov/refuge/hagerman/
The interesting thing about this was the oil fields at all the outlets of the end to the lake.
In addition to that great pictures of the wildlife and surroundings.
And of course the train
All in all we had a nice relaxing time. Off to Oklahoma next.
